Has there ever been a better time to be a thoughtful, strong, assertive and flat-out correct woman of conservative philosophy? Oh, sure…some are Republican in outlook, but not all. In fact, many don’t have much use for either of the two major political parties and aren’t afraid to call out either of them whenever they step in the kimchi.

Perhaps out of some tenuous sense of kinship — though the party has really stretched that affiliation to the breaking point with its profligate spending and generally wishy-washy response to liberalism run amok over the last several years — most of these women at least partly identify with classic Republican ideals, but the RNC should never make the mistake of taking them for granted.

Currently, the most famous of these women is Sarah Palin. Pulled from relative obscurity in Alaska — where she was serving as the state’s Republican governor — by John McCain to run with him as his Vice President, Palin has demonstrated true conviction and an absolute willingness to identify Democratic sleight of hand as it relates to ObamaCare. Her statement on ‘Death Panels’ caused party elders on both sides of the aisle in the Senate to toss so-called government-guided end-of-life counseling over the side quicker than one could say “Barack Obama is a closet Socialist.”

But Palin is only the most recent star in a universe greatly populated with them right now. Anne Coulter and Michelle Malkin, both of whom are best-selling conservative authors and frequent commentators on the vacuity of liberal politics these days, are leading the doctrinarian charge that has as its aim a return of the Republican Party to its core principles of limited government and personal responsibility.

As far as political leaders go, there’s Michele Bachmann, a former federal tax litigator and current Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 6th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Ms. Bachmann’s shown she’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind, and managed to survive a concerted effort to run her out of office by the liberal nutroots in Minnesota and around the country in last year’s elections.

Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee — representing the 7th District in the U.S. House — sees to the needs of a stretch of the state that runs from the suburbs outside of Nashville down to the suburbs outside of Memphis. A redistricting move after the 2000 Census, done to protect so-called ‘Blue Dog’ Democrat and longtime member of Congress Bart Gordon (who’s famous recently for having voted to move H.R. 3200 — ObamaCare — out of Henry Waxman’s Energy and Commerce Committee) from increasingly strong Republican challenges to his hegemony, gave Ms. Blackburn the space needed to make her own successful run for Congress in 2002. She’s been a consistent voice in opposition to government-run health care, and is a staunch fiscal and social conservative.

There are also a number of very strong personalities riding the talk radio airwaves. Laura Ingraham – Dartmouth undergrad and Virginia Law School grad who once clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas — is a frequent guest host for Bill O’Reilly and has proven almost totally unflappable and monumentally dominating when countering the arguments of many an overheated advocate of the Left on both her own show and on The O’Reilly Factor.

When it comes to a woman who can espouse conservative ideals with deadly effectiveness and laser-like precision, it’s hard to find a better exemplar than Star Parker, an African-American author who proudly acknowledges her onetime status as a “welfare queen.” Founder and president of the Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), Ms. Parker has helped conservatives — and by extension, Republicans — begin a comeback these last few months that wasn’t thought possible just 5 or 6 months ago.

What all of these women have in common is a firm conviction that the essential tenets of Conservatism in the 21st century — as opposed to the mushy-headed kinds pushed by Kathleen Parker and others of her ilk — is what will best serve the nation in the years ahead. And all have been fearless in speaking out against the neo-socialism being pushed by Barack Obama and his supernumeraries in the Congress.

Actually, maybe Republicans need to put these women in charge for awhile, what do you think? Certainly, they seem willing to actually stand up, fight for conservative principles and take their chances with the voters. As a certain male demi-god who’s been manning the conservative talk radio helm for quite some time has correctly pointed out on more than a few occasions; it’s only when Republicans stray from true conservative principles that they lose elections. Ingraham, Malkin, Blackburn, Palin and the others are the standard bearers these days, it seems.

And they firmly believe in what that male talk radio “god” has “rushed” to tell us, when it comes to taking back the Congress and the White House.
